Hello,
I am a US Citizen by birth and hold an OCI card for the past 6 years. I recently got married and changed my surname on my US Passport. I now want to change my surname on my OCI card using the OCI Misc Services application. However, the BLS website says that it takes 60 days to process the OCI application. I need to go to India in the beginning of November, and I am afraid if I send them my OCI card, passport, and all documents, they might not return in time for my India trip.
Currently, the surname on my passport (married name) is different from the surname on my OCI card (maiden name). Is there any way I can travel to India on my current OCI card and show my marriage license & old expired passport to prove that I am the same person? Or will they not allow me to enter India if the surname on my passport is different from the surname on my OCI card?
Does anyone have experience with this problem?
