I have applied for 17 months extension through my current e-verified employer who is not going to do H1B. I am expecting the extension to come in 2 to 3 months and my current OPT is valid until then. I have got an offer from another employer willing to do H1B, but wants me to join in 2 weeks but this employer is not e-verified.
1) Does the new employer need to get e-verified before I join them? Or can they do that a bit slowly as I have another 2 to 3 months validity on my extension. How long the process of enrolling in e-verify will take for an employer?
2) Since I am required to update the employer online as soon as I start working, what does that do to my current application?
3) When the new employer enrolls in e-verify, do I need to amend my application?
Safest course seems to just wait to get the extension and then join - but the new employer is not willing to wait. What other options are there for me?
