I-130 petition for father where "official" marriage occured after child's birth

Hi,

I'm about to petition for my parents but they didn't certify their marriage until after I was born. So the marriage certificate says they were married when I was ~6 years old. My father's name is on my birth certificate. The instructions clearly state that the marriage certificate should clearly show they were married before I was born.

How should I go about petitioning for my father?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

In the instructions, it also covers "8. Stepparent/Stepchild", although technically your father is not a stepfather (but it should be no harder than for a stepfather). Basically, if the parents marry before the child was 18, then it's okay. The instructions are somewhat confusing.

Thanks for the prompt response. Their marriage certificate does have me called out as a child (with my birthday) so I'm assuming this will be enough.
