I am a Canadian Citizen who is about to start a 4 month clinical clerkship in NY. When I came to the border from Ontario, the border patrol agent did not give me a B1 after I showed him my documentation. He said that I can do the rotations as long as I exit before 6 months. Is this correct, or should I go back across the border and try to get the B1 stamp before my rotations start?
