Entering to US with US Passport and questions

Hi all,

I got my citizenship about 13-14 months ago, ever since then I have been out of country about 4 times, for some reason I get too many questions from border officer, questions like;
Why did you go to Canada? (Mexico, Germany)
Why did you fly to Canada and now returning on foot
How many days did you stay over there? why 2 (or 3, 5, whatever)
Why are you using this border for crossing?
What do you do for living?
Where do you live? for how long?
Where are you planning to go next?

Questions like that, whats funny is I always go with my wife who is GC holder and she never gets a question, I remember I never been asked questions like that when I was holding GC

As a U.S. citizen you don't have to answer any questions -- they must let you in. But they might subject you to extra customs screening if you do that.

it shouldnt be a problem if you are clean.
