I read it on other posts about parents who are here on visitor visa and one can file petition for them and adjustment of status and be able to let them continue to stay in the US. Is it any different for siblings?
Thanks amishah.
Do you think I can apply only for my Sister and her husband and leave out the son who we think may apply for a US visa? I'm not sure if I can file the petition for partial family members.
I have my Sister-in-law already in the US on H4 (her husband's (and family) GC is in progress.) Can my wife (USC) file for their GC and be able to get the Adjustment of status done sooner than having to wait (based on their original employment GC filing?) Any thoughts?
I'm a USC and wish to apply for my Dad & my (married) Sister (and her family - kids ages 10 & 14.) While the GC process for them is in progress (I haven't filed yet), will they be able to visit US? My Dad already has a visitor visa but not my sister and her family. With the time it takes for...
I'm posting this for a friend of mine.
His parents are eligible to apply for CZ. His parents will be out of US until Feb. 2006 (less than 6 months from the time they last departed US) and he was wondering if they can apply 1-2 months before they actually come into the US to save some...
Thanks amishah.
I guess since he isn't planning to come back to US atleast for another year, there is no point in applying for his AP (that was good info to know that APs are valid only for 1 year.) I will just go ahead and file petition for his GC and let the process take its time. I...
amishah,
My Dad is here and will be leaving back for India in November. Does he have to be present in the US after I apply for his GC? Can I apply for his AP at the same time I apply for his GC and can he leave US before getting the AP approved? Any other formalities that he needs to complete...
I'm in a similar situation. I got my citizenship recently and looking into the option of applying for my Dad who is currently visiting me.
Can my Dad leave US after filing for 485 or is it recommended to get it approved and then leave on AP? How long does 485 approval take? What happens after...
The civics test was a written test - 10 multiple choice questions. The English test was oral - She had asked me to repeat a sentence she said. If you have prepared from their standard 100 questions, you should be fine. Good luck.
Finally over (almost)
I got my interview and oath done last week. The interview went smoothly - just the usual going thru' the application and out in 3-4 minutes (or maybe even less than that !!!) I already had taken the civics test earlier, which she asked for. No questions on SSS or anything...
Congrats mozelack. It sounds like a straight-forward interview for you. Anything odd in your interview or were there any oddities in your case?
Congrats again. Now you can move on to something else !
