Hi all,
I received my green card last month. I wonder if I need to replace my social security card since it says "valid for work only with INS authorization" on it, which is not the case anymore. Could anyone please let me know? Mucho gracias!
My old job title was network engineer, and the new one is program manager. Both employers use the same law firm, and the lawyer notified USCIS with an AOS portability letter indicating I changed job. I didn't change anything in the job description.
Got the e-mail from USCIS-CSSO@dhs.gov last night, my I-485 has been approved!!! God damn, I thought this day would never come...
Here is detailed info:
02/15/2002 - Priority date
10/25/2004 - Concurrent filing of I-140 and I-485 (EB2 China)
05/13/2005 - I-140 approved
08/29/2005 -...

July 10. And got the reply on 20th. This was my third inquiry within the last three months, and I always got response within 2-3 weeks. I really hope they cleared my background check. Keep my fingers crossed...
Hi all,
Below is the auto reply I got from CSC-XII.485@dhs.gov
"The file is being reviewed by an officer at this time. If all is in order, a decision should be made within 30 days or a request for additional notice will be mailed out. - M. Bueno"
Does this mean I already passed FBI...
Thanks for the replies, guys. My case is EB-2. I just got an e-mail from my lawyer and basically it's the same as what TheRealCanadian said - "if your I-485 has been pending for more than 365 days, your new employer should be able to apply H-1B extension for you."
Further more, my H-1B...
3 year extension? Is this a new law? I though you'll have to renew H-1B every year after 6-year limit.
BTW, yes, my I-140 is approved, and I-485 is pending (case filed in October 2004).
Hi, my H-1B is expiring in May 2006, and I'm joining this new company next month under AC-21. My question is will the new employer be able to apply 7th year H-1B or EAD for me (if I don't get I-485 approval by then)? I really appreciate your help!
Not true, mine was concurrent filing EB2 (submitted in October 2004). My I-140 was approved a month ago, and I just got an e-mail reply from California center saying that they are waiting for the FBI's name check result for my I-485 application.
