    Getting E-2

Obtaining an E visa is not easy (anymore?). Depending on the embassy/consulate you deal with it can take up to a year. As far as investment goes, it depends on the nature of the business and where. I would call a $300K investment a safer number, but then again it really depends on what.

I would make the investment first before applying. I think it's actually a requirement. At 50K you will need a strong case too, it's possible though.

How much is needed for E2 visa

$25K... Really?? He must have made one hell of a case at a very "nice" consulate. When was this? Anyway, I guess that means many things are to be considered for approval.

How much is needed for E2 visa

The amount of the investment depends on several factors. $45K I would think is too low in any case. I believe they like to see at least $250K already invested. I think with lower investements you would need to make a strong case. Having a number of US (and resident) employees would help, plus a...

transfer E2 visa to different employer????

That's a tough one. It sounds like you are a manager/supervisor type E2 visa holder which would mean that the company you work for in the US would have to be at least 51% Dutch owned (assuming you're a Dutch citizen). Regardless, given the nature of E visas you are pretty much tied to your...

    What's the E2 interview like?

I was wondering what the E2 interview is like after approval. What kind of questions were you asked? Was it an extensive interview about the business or basically a way for them to make sure you are who say you are? Thanks

    E-2 Visa

If the investment of the E2 visa holder is ongoing and generating new employment (in particulair), he should have no problem renewing it for another term.

    E2 help needed (interesting case)

Thanks for all the great help and advice Billy Bob. I'll let you know how this will work out. This company too, develops a very complex software product. We put a lot of effort into writing a good business plan that is not too overwhelming but still convincing. You're right about the visa stamp...

    E2 help needed (interesting case)

E2 Interview (Billy Bob, are you still out there?) My E2 application will be submitted this week. It took some work gathering the paperwork, but it all came out nicely. I was wondering what the interview is like. I know you have experience with the consulate in Amsterdam. What to expect...

    E1 or H1 better?

Hey, H1B might be very difficult because you're the only employee plus it's a start up company. H1B gets easier the more employees work at a company. Plus you have to file quickly for H1B before half of India files and the annual cap has been reached. Have you read carefully over the E visa...

    E2 help needed (interesting case)

Some more updates It's been a while. I'm traveling to the Netherlands soon to become a resident there so I can file for E2 in amsterdam (btw, as resident of Curacao, NA, I had to go to Caracas, too great of a personal risk). On the US consulate (in AMS) website it says to allow for a minimum...

    E2 help needed (interesting case)

Hey Billy Bob, I'm not sure about one thing. I know you got your E2 processed in AMS, but were you a resident in the Netherlands at the time? If not so, how were you able to get this processed through AMS? Thanks

    E2 help needed (interesting case)

Hey Billy Bob, First of all, thanks for the help, much appreciated. Were you not a resident in the Netherlands when you applied for that E2? See my problem is that I'm trying to avoid having to go to Caracas and I'm trying to find out exactly how this works if I would file within the US (my...

    E2 help needed (interesting case)

The Netherlands Antilles (a treaty country through the Netherlands) are Dutch territory. Problem is that I'm 99% sure that I won't be able to take care of this at the consulate in Amsterdam, the dutch caribbean islands are not in their district. Years ago when I applied for an F1 visa I was...
