N400 post-interview process stalled for no reason

UPDATE: For anyone else who might find themselves in a similar situation - inquires, threatening letters and congressional representative's office calls did little. I ended up hiring an attorney and bringing the case to the federal court. Within a few days USCIS approved my case. The oath...

N400 post-interview process stalled for no reason

Thanks everyone. For now I've decided to consult an immigration attorney who specializes in these types of cases. I'd appreciate if someone could recommend a good lawyer in Chicago.

N400 post-interview process stalled for no reason

Thanks cafeconleche. Sound advice. I was starting to think along the same lines. Regarding #1 - if there were any of these types of issues (I can't think of anything: I haven't been outside of US for longer than a few days a year, I have no employment or legal problems, no IRS issues, etc)...

N400 post-interview process stalled for no reason

First off, let me apologize in advance if this subject has already been covered in another active thread. Please, feel free to point me to such threads. I've seen some related discussions but not quite the same one. I live in Chicago. I applied for Naturalization in Oct, 2012, biometrics in...

PERM denied due to a previousely certified application

Thanks Warsaw_Berlin. I did find your posts and read them carefully. We're in very similar boats. I know several people you got their EB2 approved having an approved EB3 with the same employer. This does not seem to be a general problem (or there would be a huge uproar on this forum alone). My...

PERM denied due to a previousely certified application

Q: Is it the same company? Q: Is it being processed by Chicago processing center?

PERM denied due to a previousely certified application

A little update: we waited for the DOL/AILA conference for couple weeks. Then my attorney (and few others) asked DOL representatives regarding the denial of cases with no PENDING second application with a reason "another case PENDING". DOL representatives assured everyone this was caused by a...

PERM denied due to a previousely certified application

No, no progress. I'm considering a possibility of withdrawing the first (approved) application and refiling the other one. Miserable! :(

PERM denied due to a previousely certified application

Here's an abstract from: "Summary of April 17, 2006 Biweekly Stakeholders Call with DOL ETA" " ... A recent FAQ has indicated that two PENDING Perm cases for the same alien and same job by the same employer will not be allowed. If an application is filed while another case is pending, the...

PERM denied due to a previousely certified application

My lawyer is working on it. I just wanted to see if this is a common issue.

PERM denied due to a previousely certified application

Hi, I did a little research trying to find a simiilar case and could not quite find an answer, so I figured, I'd open a new thread. I have an approved PERM application in EB3 category. Approved in November 2005. Few days ago my attorney filed a new application in EB2 category (BS + 5...

Does approved I-140 allow chaning jobs after 6-th year?

Thanks! We sure should. The only new thing I've found out is that USCIS might be very reluctunt on giving out thoise 3 year extensions. Especially for folk not from India, mainland China or philippins.

BTW, after some research, it seems that 3 year extension might not be avaliable for all. In particular, it might only be avaliable for China and India. As for the worldwide retrogression affectees, USCIS seems to be taking an aggressive stand and not providing the 3 year extention. :(

Thanks creative10, this is very helpful. One more thing, once I-140 gets approved, I should be able to file for another I-140 (in case LC in EB-2 category gets approved), right?
