I would suggest you stay on good terms with your employer.U never know when u might need them till you dont get your gc.Since the issue is all about payslips and not money it shouldnt be a big deal.

Taking vacation pay means you are still hired by that company.In short you are still an employee of that company.Look at the back of I9 form and you decide yourself what is right and wrong.Again as i said different people will give different answers.

Legally there is no other option than to terminate your employment.So quitting is the best option .Talk to your HR and see if you can join the company once you get the renewal approved or an interim EAD.

What you said is absolutely right.Even if the HR allows us to work it would not be advisable to do so cuz their knowledge on immigration matters is minimal.It is better to stay at home so that we dont put our gc process under jeopardy.The BIG question is would the company terminate us...
The general consensus is no.My HR just told me that on the backside of I9 form it clearly states under what circumstances I can work.Nowhere does it state that with a receipt I can continue working.

Iam in the same position. I sent my papers for EAD extension in the first week of November.USCIS recieved the papers on nov16. So far no updates from them.With every passing day the immigration authorities are making lives miserable.
