My 2 cents
From what I understand, the only change would be that when you retire, you will get your "income" (or pension) from 2 sources - your private account and Social Security instead of just social security. All other rules, like eligibility etc. remain the same.

Yes. It's the same number ((800) 375-5283 ). Have your LIN number and A number ready. In our case it worked. It might have been a coincidence, since we had been waiting for 8 months. In any case, you don't lose anything, except about 20 minutes of your time.
Good luck.
My message said "On September 8th,....". It changed on the 11th to " On 11th... card mailed ...". I received my card on the 13th. I guess you should receive your card within 2 - 3 weeks. Good luck.
You are right. There is no "6 month green card requirement". Employment based, Permanent Residence implies that you are going to work for your (sponsoring) employer "permanently". But, in the real world almost everyone changes jobs. But the legally acceptable time gap between I-485 approval...
I called the number and within a month I got my card. But then ,I had been waiting for more than 8 months. So it might be just a coincidence. Still, it doesn't hurt. You don't lose anything other than 20 minutes of your time.
I followed the same method as before - LIN Number etc. The status was unchanged for 8 months. Then it changed to - Card ordered etc and then to Card Mailed etc. WIthin 10 days I got my plastic card. I guess there are no intermediate steps involved. You just have to keep seeing the same...
Congratulations!
Puneet!
Congratulations on your approval! Thanks for sharing your well written story. Good luck!
You still have to wait for your card, though :-)
I didn't do anything special. Just called the 1-800... Number and gave the details they wanted. She said I would get a reply in a month. I did get a reply, but it didn't say much.
My wife called after a couple of weeks. They told her she would get her PR card within a month. I didn't...
