To the OP. You can only apply for PIO and not OCI for the child. To apply for OCI, atleast one parent should be a US citizen.

Also, I have an additional question. Do they stamp the Foreign passport? How do they know at the departure that one did Register? I thought the same too (that one has to register only ones). But I cannot find this information being clearly stated anywhere.:confused: Thanks,

I know that a PIO card holder should register at FRRO/FRO if he/she stays for more than 180 days. But is it just ones or every 180 days? E.g: Say if he stays for 5 years. Should he register only ones after 180 days or say 10 times (ever 6 months)? Thanks,
