Hello all.
I have several questions about filling out the application and any suggestions will be appreciated very much.

Q1: Do I have to send notarized copies to DOS and/or embassy (I haven't read anything about notarizing, but just in case)?

Q2: When should I apply for "No Objection Letter"? Before or after DOS posts on the website that application has been received?

I had lost my original IAP-66 and DOS provided me with an official letter, supposedly giving me all the info. that was on the IAP-66. However, it is missing the program start and end dates (section 3), and Permant residence field.

Q3: When the original IAP-66 was issued, i was not a permanent resident of any country and I can only assume that that field was left empty. What should I do?

Q4: What should I put in the "Begin Date" and "End Date"? I only have the years on the "replacement" IAP-66.

Q5:"Time not covered by DS-2019 or IAP-66?" After original J-1 program, I have been in the US many time, in fact I am currently here, on F-1 Visas. Should I include these dates in there?

The original program was from 1997-1998. Since then I have only accumulated 6 months of residency in my home country and still have 18 months left. I came on FSA-FLEX program which is 100% covered by the US Gov't to study in a US High School and I "am expected to return to my country with a new enthusiasm and desire to share my newly acquired experiences and knowledge to benefit my home community and country".
Since that program I have received my undergraduate and graduate degrees in the US, using personal funds.

I am engaged to a US permanent resident and we are planning on getting married in April 2010. She will become a US citizen sometimes mid 2011 after which we would like to apply for adjustment of status for me.

Q6: Statement of Reason: What should I tell them? Should I just be honest and tell them that I have met someone and we are going to get married and would like to be able to adjust my status to LPR?
Or, should I give them some bs that I am trying to gain some valuable US work experience that will help me and my home country upon my return?

Thank you very much everyone.

I came to US on JAN2007 in J1 visa to work for US Dept of Health. I worked for 2.5 years. Then recently moved to another university with as a research associate with J1 status. It is my 3rd year in J1. The university issued a new DS-2019 form extending up to Sep2010. Hopefully it will extended after 2010 also.

2year home country residency rule will apply for me.So applied for NORI certificates from indian govt. Received all the three letters.I haven't sent yet either to indian embassy nor to USIC to get the waiver.Probably i will send it by 2010 april.

By the time my wife with J2 visa applied for EAD and working as a non-paid volunteer worker for the US dept. of health.

I red somewhere states that 2year home country residency rule will apply for J2 dependent also

Now she is going to india for visiting her parents with expired(2009 jan) J2 visa but with valid DS-2019 from issued by the university from which i am working right now.

How easy or hard her j2 visa get renewed in india?

Any other documents do she need to carry with her to get new J2 visa?

Suggestion please...

Thanks in advance

I want to apply for 2 visa types (in amsterdam), because first I'm going to work on a research project at university for 2.5 months (part of my study program) and after that I would like to stay 2.5 month longer because my boyfriend is also staying for 5 months, I would like to write my article there, my parents are coming for a holiday, etc.

They told me that I have to apply for a J1 AND a B2, and that it's best to do in the Netherlands because they don't like it when I do it in the US. But I don't know whether they will accept it? They said 'It must be a good reason', but what is 'a good reason'?

I would like to know for sure whether I can stay 3.5 months (just J1 + 30days) or 5 months because then I can buy my tickets, rent my appartment temporarly, etc etc..

Anybody with experience in this? Or other advices?

Thanks a lot!!!!

Kind regards
